NEED FOR THE IMPROVEMENT:
There is a quarter mile gap in the multi-use path along Harger Road and also no accessible crossing of Salt Creek for the residential and commercial area between Cermak Road and Roosevelt Road.
PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT INCLUDES:
New 1,115 feet of multi-use path at 375 feet to the west to the dead-end of Yorkshire Woods Road (on-road accommodations on Yorkshire Road to the existing multi-use path at Harger Road).
148-foot clear span bridge over Salt Creek. • 110-foot boardwalk west of bridge.
300-foot boardwalk east of bridge.
New watermain along the multi-use path to create additional redundancy in the Village’s watermain network.
PROPERTY ACQUISITION:
The Village has obtained a permit from the Tollway to place the path and watermain on their right-of-way. There is no private property acquisition.
PHASE I ESTIMATED COST:
$2,068,542 ($1,556,986 Federal CMAQ Funds / $511,556 Local Match) This project will be funded with federal Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) funding through the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) with required matching funds provided by the Village.
